Privacy policy
Tomiwa built Glance Captions to help you get sweet, real captions. We don't plan to monitor you or sell your data. This page explains what we collect, why our app collects it, and the controls that you have. Abeg, you're totally safe
Pick your route
The fast version: we collect the information needed to create your account, generate captions, remember your settings, and run the app. Some processing happens through third-party infrastructure we use to deliver those features.
What we collect
Accounts
You can create or access a Glance Captions account with email and password, Google, or Apple. Depending on the sign-in method, we may receive your email address, display name, and profile image from the provider. We also store account metadata such as your plan level, usage counters, and country selection.
If you sign in with Apple, Apple may provide a private relay email instead of your personal email. Apple also only shares some profile fields, like name and email, the first time you authorize them.
Uploads and prompts
When you type a description, or optionally upload an image or video, that input is used to generate caption suggestions. In the current app flow, media files are uploaded to temporary cloud storage, passed to our backend generation pipeline, and then deleted from temporary storage after the request finishes or fails.
Text, images, and videos are only sent when you actively ask the app to generate something.
The request may flow through Firebase-hosted backend services and AI-processing providers we use to return your caption output.
Temporary storage copies are intended to be deleted once processing completes. A failed cleanup may delay deletion briefly.
Captions and history
Glance saves generated captions and related metadata so you can view recent results, copy them, and keep your workflow moving. That may include the selected platforms, tone, goal, hashtag count, created time, and expiry-related timestamps tied to the caption result.
The client flow treats caption history as short-lived rather than permanent. You can also clear your history. Separately, saved presets and favorite-caption markers are stored locally on your device using app storage.
Analytics and notifications
Glance enables Firebase Analytics to understand app usage, feature adoption, and general product performance. This helps us improve the app experience and prioritize what to build next.
Push notifications are optional. If you grant permission, Apple or Google may generate device-level tokens that can be used to deliver notifications. You can change notification preferences in your device settings at any time.
Subscriptions and payments
If you subscribe to Glance Pro, payments are handled by the App Store or Google Play. We may receive receipt or purchase-verification data needed to activate and manage your plan, but we do not receive your full card number from Apple or Google.
Third-party providers
Authentication, Firestore, Storage, Cloud Functions, Analytics, and Messaging.
Used when you choose those sign-in methods instead of email and password.
Used for subscription purchases, restore flows, and billing verification.
Used through our backend generation pipeline to create caption outputs from the prompts you submit.
